Direct Affect returned to form in February with a win at the Sapphire Coast on 20 February. The Fighting Sun gelding was taken straight to the front but jockey, Bill Owen, never looked in any danger of defeat. A convincing win of The Brown Family Wine Group Class 1 1608 metres.
