Murray stables took five horses to compete at the Albury Gold Cup Carnival on 27 and 28 March and four of them were winners.

First up was Billy Da Boss on day one of the carnival who was bred, and is owned and trained by Bede.  The 3 year old gelding was ridden by Hugh Bowman and took out the Barlens Plate 1400m.

Cassano, trained by Graeme Murray, was our next winner and he claimed the Coronet Jewellers Handicap 1175m.  Cassano was also ridden by Hugh making it two out of two for us for the first day of the carnival.

On day two we saw Chosen Song, ridden by our apprentice jockey, Brodie Loy, win the Protector Allsafe Mile 1600m.  It was a great ride for Brodie, who hails from Albury, to win in front of his home crowd.

Sankara Spirit proved he has spirit by coping with the widest barrier in the 12-horse field to come home and win the Lexus of Wodonga Class 3 Handicap 1400m.  Ridden beautifully by Blake Shinn he capped off a fantastic meet for the Murrays.  Here's hoping the upcoming Wagga Gold Cup Carnival in May proves to be just as successful!
